About

Zoetic was Built with Connection in Mind

Each room in The Lodge at Zoetic has its own unique personality. Each and every space was carefully designed to inspire wonder. Every corner carefully crafted to invite you to connect with yourself, others, art and nature through both inspection and introspection.

A gentle warning, you may occasionally find that Zoetic’s modest collection of surrealist animal objects and paintings will look as deeply into you as you are looking into them.

The 30-acre forest surrounding The Lodge at Zoetic opens up with every careful footfall. As you discover, you begin to understand that the untamed forest resides in another dimension altogether. It’s hard to know which is more enchanting, the curiosities of the natural world outside the lodge or the art inside. We let you decide.

When the idea of Zoetic was first coming into being, I only knew what I wanted it to do for the people involved - guests and staff - even if I wasn't sure at the beginning how I would accomplish those goals... I wanted to create a space, away from the city, away from advertising, concrete, nagging desires that were never yours. Someplace we all could retreat to for a period of time, to forget and to remember. To forget for a while the identities, the labels, that weigh upon us in our day to day. To slough off the stale skin of the past and to remember what we already know deep inside: that when we quiet our minds and our bodies in a deep way, open our minds, hearts, and consciousness, we know what the right answers are for ourselves. Zoetic creates the conditions for you to come to connection and ultimate comfort in your own mind/body. -Dara Prothro

Our Awesome Team

Dara

Dara is the Program Director and Yogin at Zoetic. She has been practicing meditation, mindful movement, breathing exercises, silent and guided meditation for 20 years, teaching for 5. Her classes incorporate movement and stillness with a focus on cueing the breath to the movements to better connect the mind and body. She prides herself on the accessibility of her movement classes while inviting people with yoga and meditation experience to meet the challenge with Beginners Mind. Dara has a love of the Science of meditation as well as the philosophy and peppers her class with useful information about HOW and WHY the mind/body connection is the key to well-being and freedom.

Zoe

Zoe is the office administrator and animal and garden caretaker. She grew up on a ranch in Corpus Christi, Texas and volunteered with Zoetic for six months before being brought on full-time, and eventually made a partner. She is an animal whisperer by birth. Her naturally kind, gentle, calm nature calls all animals great and small to her side. Zoe is currently in training to lead yoga and pottery classes.

Jeremy

Jeremy is Zoetic’s de facto architect, as well as a skilled carpenter and fine artist. Jeremy is practiced in almost every art you can name, from watercolor to sculpture and leatherwork. His artistry is evident in every single outdoor space at Zoetic, from the 9-foot-tall super adobe dome & the cob structure SunMoon, to our very own inground pool. His skills also extend to the field of geology. Jeremy is a kind, patient leader and teacher as well as a partner in the business.
